AAOS 2017 Annual Meeting
The American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons 2017 Annual Meeting was held March 13-18, 2017 in San Diego, California. Dr. Peter Bonutti was the lead author and presented a study titled, Total Knee Arthroplasty - Fibrosis Following Arthroscopic Intervention. He won an award from International Orthopedic Association. Dr. Bonutti was also co-author on two additional papers titled; Does Depression Affect Outcomes Following Primary Total Knee Arthroplasty and Adult Reconstruction Knee III: Readmissions/Outcomes/Bundles.
Dr. Bonutti invited Faculty for the 2nd Annual Winter Hip, Knee & Shoulder Symposium in Ft.Lauderdale, Florida.
On Feb. 3, 2017, Dr. Bonutti was chosen to be on the Expert Panel for discussions on “Surgical Knee Technologies and Implant Choices”. He also was the Key Moderator and lead case discussions on “Pain Protocols and Accelerated Rehabilitation”. In the evening, the Economic Program was held and featured several well-known surgeons and Industrial CEO’s speaking on New Technology and Industry Focus. Dr. Bonutti presented on “Intellectual Property Value and Strategy”.
Dr. Peter Bonutti Joined World Renowned Innovators and Surgeons at the Technology Innovation for Physicians and Surgeons (TIPS) Conference in Cleveland, Ohio
Dr. Peter Bonutti presented and participated on the Committee at the Technology Innovation for Physicians and Surgeons Conference in Cleveland, Ohio, October 22-24th. He joined other world renowned innovators and surgeons in presenting his latest technological advances and new surgical techniques. His presentations titled, “Independent Development: What Does It Take”, “Ultrasonic Suture Welding” and “Ultrasound Treatment for Biofilm”. Dr. Bonutti moderated the Precision and Accuracy in Surgery session.
Dr. Omiyi recieves Board Certification

Orthopaedic surgeon Didi Omiyi, MD, of Bonutti Clinic recently received Board Certification from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS). Board certification demonstrates a physician’s exceptional expertise in a particular specialty of a medical practice. It is a voluntary process meant to designate individuals who have met the highest standards of eduction, training and knowledge in surgery. Dr. Omiyi joined the Bonutti Clinic in October of 2014.
Dine With A Doc Event – Sullivan, Illinois
Members of the Effingham Art Guild (EAG) recently celebrated their 16th annual Juried Art Show with a special event hosted by Bonutti Clinic to announce the winners. The EAG Juried Art Show is unique to the Effingham area, as juried shows require the artist’s work to compete against other entries to be accepted into the display. The juried art show continues to grow in popularity. Twenty-five local artists submitted 109 pieces of art. Bonutti Clinic employees judged the entries.
AAOS 2016 Annual Meeting
The American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons 2016 Annual Meeting was held March 1- 5, 2016 in Orlando, Florida, at the Orange County Convention Center. Dr. Peter Bonutti and Dr. Didi Omiyi attended the annual event. Dr. Bonutti was the lead author and presenter of a poster on exhibit titled, “Evaluation of Topical Ultrasound for Bacterial Biofilm Removal.” There were over 10,000 orthopedic surgeons in attendance at the International Meeting.
Dr. Peter Bonutti Attends the Holy Cross Faculty Meeting
Dr. Peter Bonutti, was invited faculty at the Holy Cross Lecture Harvard Meeting in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on February 5, 2016. Dr. Bonutti gave two lectures. The first was titled, “Minimally Invasive—What This Means” and the second “Accelerated Therapy Protocols in the Bundled Environment”. Dr. Bonutti also was on several panels and moderator of the knee session.

He presented to 50 students about his journey of entrepreneurship which included his schooling and business ventures as well as his ongoing experiences of continued leadership in the Effingham Community today.

HSHS St. Anthony’s is pleased to announce Hospital Sisters Health System Board of Directors recently approved the appointment of Didi Omiyi, MD to the hospital’s Board of Directors for a three-year term of November 1, 2015 to October 31, 2018. Dr. Didi Omiyi specializes in orthopedic surgery and joined St. Anthony’s Medical Staff in October 2014.
